Life Reminders Journal Support

Have you ever thought about journalling?  Have you ever tried to journal, but found it difficult to do or to continue?  Are you in need of encouragement, help in knowing how to journal, or in remembering to do it?  If so, then Life Reminders Support is for you.  When you join the yahoo group, you will receive daily reminders and encouragement in journaling, as well as tips to help you along the way.  Journaling your thoughts, feelings, and experiences can help you as you heal from life's stresses and hurts.  It can help you to work through decisions, clarify your thinking, sort through your feelings, understand and make peace with your life circumstances, and give you a way of expressing yourself.  There are many benefits to journaling, including lowering your anxiety, working out ways to resolve issues and finding words to clearly communicate what you need and want.

How to Journal

Here are two simple ways to journal. Choose the one that connects with where you are at today.

Journal Exercise #1
A. Write down what has been happening today.
B. Write down any thoughts you have been having about these events.
C. Write down the feelings you have during these events and/or when you think of these events.

OR

Journal Exercise #2
Set a timer for 15 minutes. Write (or draw, scribble on paper, etc) whatever comes to mind. Don't worry about grammar or sentence form, and don't correct any mistakes you make ... just write whatever you can, in whatever way you can, until the timer goes off.

Self-Help Journal.
When you choose this option, the counsellor will provide you with a format for doing two weeks of daily journalling through your account on the website, to help you in sorting through your issues.  When you send these daily journals to the counsellor for feedback, the counsellor will send one email in reply to you at the end of the two weeks, with feedback on identified patterns and possible solutions.  The cost is less for this as YOU are doing most of the work.
